You have determined
that you would like to base your grades on a percentage of
points earned.
|
| |
You still have one more
decision to make.
|
| Choice 1 |
You can set up your
class for a single category,
Total Points,
calculation and nothing else.
|
| |
The Category window for
Total Points will look like the following graphic.

|
| Choice 2 |
If you want your grades
to be calculated by a percentage of the total points earned,
yet still want a percentage for various categories, you
should follow the above directions and ADD
subcategories with a Category Weight of 0.
|
| |
The calculation will be
based on the points earned divided by the total points
possible but you can also gain information about the
percentage of points earned for the other categories such as
homework, class work, tests, and quizzes.
|
| |
A report can be
generated, by category, for both the class and for
individual students.
|
| |
This information is
often helpful during parent conferences. Since the category
weight for subcategories is zero, the grade will be
determined by the points earned divided by the points
possible for the Total Points category, weighted as 100%.

| |
The Category window for
the subcategories will look like the following graphic.

your class categories as

Subcategories.
