Congratulations to Robert Wilson, who was selected 2nd Team for All-Ohio.
Robert finished the season averaging 25 points and 13 rebounds.
Also selected for All Ohio Honors was Carrington Hanna, as he was name
Honorable Mention. Carrington average 14 points and 7 rebounds for the Rockets
this season.

Game Summaries
West Branch 2/27
The boys basketball team's magical season ended last night, as they were
defeated by the West Branch Warriors by a score of 73-63. Leading the Rockets
were Robert Wilson with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Dan Spindler with 14 points
and 4 steals. On behalf of Coach Muck and the boys basketball team, they would
like to thank all of the students and staff for their support for the entire
season.
Howland 2/23
This past Saturday, the Rockets continued tournament play, as they defeated the
Howland Tigers by a score of 80-61. The Rockets were led by Robert Wilson with
26 points and 16 rebounds, Carrington Hanna with 17 points and 7 rebounds, and
Mike Moore with 14 points 5 rebounds and 3 steals. With the win on Saturday, the
Rockets claimed their first sectional championship in 15 years. The Rockets are
back in action this Wednesday, as they will play the West Branch Warriors in the
District Semifinal game at 7:00pm.
Cardinal Mooney 2/20
The boys basketball team began tournament play last night, as they defeated the
Cardinal Mooney Cardinals by a score of 68-58. Leading the Rockets to victory
were Robert Wilson with 27 points and 12 boards and Carrington Hanna with 15
points and 7 rebounds. At half time, the rockets led the contest by a score of
32-19. Mooney made a comeback in the 3rd quarter, but the Rockets' Defense held
strong in the while the offense was converting with efficiency. During the last
3 minutes of the contest, the Rockets made their last 10 free throws, which
sealed the victory. The Rockets are back in action this Saturday, as they will
take on the Howland Tigers in the sectional finals. Game time is 7:30.
Waterloo 2/15
The boys basketball team closed out the season by traveling to Waterloo and
defeated the Vikings by a score of 72-58. Leading the Rockets were Robert Wilson
with 27 points and 16 rebounds, Carrington Hanna with 21 points and 8 rebounds,
and John Weingart with 15 points. Overall, the Rockets once again turned in a
solid defensive effort that was led by Mike Moore and Dan Spindler. The rockets
begin their tournament play this Wednesday, as they travel to Boardman High
School to take on the Mooney Cardinals. Game time is at 6:00pm.
Rootstown 2/8
The boys basketball team hosted the Rootstown Rovers last Friday and won by a
score of 58-40. Leading the Rockets in the victory were Robert Wilson with 27
points and 14 rebounds and Rico Smith with 11 points and 4 rebounds. Overall,
the Rockets turned in another solid effort at the defensive end and were led by
Senior, John Weingart and Mike Moore. With the win over the Rovers, the Boys
basketball team claimed its stake as PTC County Division Champions, as they are
the 2nd team in 20 years to win a boys basketball league title for Streetsboro
High School. On behalf of Coach Muck and the entire boys basketball team, they
would like to thank all staff and students who came out to support our team and
our Senior, JOHN WEINGART.
The boys have one more regular season game remaining, as they travel to
Waterloo to play the Vikings this Friday.
Ravenna 2/5
The boys basketball team traveled to Ravenna last night and won over the Ravens
by a score of 68-54. Leading the Rockets were Robert Wilson with 28 points and
16 rebounds and John Weingart with 18 points.
On an individual note, Robert Wilson scored his 1000th point during the first
couple of minutes of the first quarter. Congratulations Robert.
The Rockets are back to PTC League Play this Friday, as they host the
Rootstown Rovers for Senior Night.
Windham 2/1
Last Friday, the boys basketball team traveled to Windham and triumphed over the
Bombers by a score of 68-63. Leading the Rockets were Robert Wilson with 25
points and 15 rebounds, Carrington Hanna with 13 points and 6 rebounds, and Rico
Smith with 11 points and 4 assists. After the Rockets gave up 45 total points in
the first half, the defense clamped down, as the Rockets outscored Windham 31 to
18 in the second half. Leading the charge in the defensive effort was Mike
Moore, as he held one of the top players in the PTC to just 3 points in the 3rd
and 4th quarters. Coach Muck would once again like to thank all students and
staff that showed up to support the Boys Basketball Team. You truly made a
difference!
Garfield 1/29
The boys basketball team were in action last night and prevailed over the
Garfield G-Men by a score of 68-50. Pacing the Rockets was Robert Wilson with 27
points and 15 rebounds and John Weingart with 15 points. Overall the Rockets put
in a solid defensive effort, as Rico Smith, Mike Moore, and Dan Spindler handled
the G-Men backcourt, while Carrington Hanna put the clamps down on one of the
top post players in the PTC. The Rockets will return to action this Friday, as
they travel to Windham for another tough PTC match-up. Coach Muck would like to
thank all of the students and staff for their attendance. It was truly a great
atmosphere
Mogadore 1/25
The boys basketball team traveled to Mogadore last Friday and beat the Wildcats
by a score of 80-45. Leading the Rockets were Robert Wilson with 20 points and
11 rebounds, while Carrington Hanna had 12 points and 5 rebounds. The Rockets
are back in action tomorrow as they host a big game versus the Garfield G-Men.
East Canton 1/18
The boys basketball team were victorious last Friday as they defeated the East
Canton Hornets by a score of 68-57. Behind at the start of the 4th quarter, the
Rockets scored 30 points in the 4th to secure the lead. Leading the Rockets were
Robert Wilson with 27 points and 10 rebounds and Carrrington Hanna and John
Weingart each with 12. The Rockets are back in action this Friday as they travel
to Mogadore to face the Wildcats.
Woodridge 1/11
The boys basketball team completed a tough week in league play as they defeated
the Woodridge Bulldogs by a score of 91-76. In the first two and a half quarters
of play, the contest would be very close, as there were many lead changes.
During the last half of the 3rd Quarter and early into the 4th quarter, the
Rockets would go on a 21-0 run that would put the game away. Leading the Rockets
were Robert Wilson with 34 points and 13 rebounds. Carrington Hanna had 16
points and 5 rebounds as Dan Spindler finished with 14 points. The Rockets are
back in action this wednesday as they host The Kenmore Cardinals. On behalf of
the basketball team, Coach Muck would like to thank all students and staff that
attended the game for the "White-Out" Night.
Waterloo 1/8
The boys basketball team won a thriller last night, as they defeated the
Waterloo Vikings by a score of 76-71 in overtime. Leading the Rockets was Robert
Wilson with 34 points and 14 rebounds and Mike Moore with 15 points and 5
steals. Overall, the entire team turned in a spectacular defensive effort to
seal the victory. The Rockets are back in action this Friday as they host the
Woodridge Bulldogs. If you are attending the game, make sure that you wear white
in order to cast the "White Out" in our gym.
Rootstown 1/4
The boys basketball team lost a heartbreaker to Rootstown by a score of 70-68.
Pacing the Rockets were Robert Wilson, Carrington Hanna, and John Weingart, all
with 17 points. The Rockets are back in action tomorrow as they host the first
place Waterloo Vikings.
Garfield 12/15
The Boys Basketball Team remained
unbeaten in league play as they defeated the Garfield G-Men last Friday by a
score of 79-64. Leading the Rockets was Robert Wilson with 27 points, 15
rebounds, and 8 assists. Also having a good game was Mike Moore with 17 points,
Carrington Hanna with 12 points, and John Weingart with 10. The Rockets
maintained the lead throughout the game until the G-Men tied the score up at 53
early in the 4th quarter. After that point, the Rockets' Defense stiffened,
forcing the G-Men into 3 straight turnovers which helped the Rockets regain the
lead. The Rockets also shot 13 of 18 from the free throw line to seal the
victory. On behalf of the Basketball Team, Coach Muck would like to thank all
of the fans who attended in support of the big game.
Mogadore 12/11
The boys basketball team moved to
3-0 in the PTC County Division with an overwhelming win over the Mogadore
Wildcats last night by a score of 94-68. Leading the Rockets in scoring were
Robert Wilson with 21, John Weingart with 17, Carrington Hanna with 12 points.
Offensively, the Rockets made 15 3 pointers, as Wilson led the way with 4 and
Junior guard, Benny Sabol had 3. The Rockets are back in action this Friday as
they travel to Garfield for a very important PTC League match up.
East Canton 12/7
The boys basketball team returned
to league play last Friday, as they defeated the East Canton Hornets by a score
of 69-49. Pacing the Rockets were Robert Wilson with 25 points and 11 rebounds,
Carrington Hanna with 19 points, and John Weingart with 13 points. Overall, the
entire team turned in an outstanding effort defensively to control the game for
the full 32 minutes. The Rockets are back in action tomorrow as they will host
the Mogadore Wildcats.
Crestwood 12/4
The boys basketball team lost to
Crestwood last night by a score of 72-62. Leading the Rockets was Carrington
Hanna with 25, Robert Wilson with 18, and John Weingart with 14 points. On
behalf of the basketball team, Coach Muck would like to thank all of the fans
would showed their team spirit last night. The Rockets are back in action this
Friday as they travel to East Canton for a PTC Contest.
Woodridge 11/30
The boys basketball team won a
thrilling game last Friday as they beat the Woodridge Bulldogs by a score of
72-71. In a game that had very many lead changes, the Rockets dug down deep in
the remaining quarter to preserve the victory. Leading the Rockets in scoring
was Robert Wilson with 30 points and 12 rebounds. Also, adding to the scoring
was John Weingart with 13 points and Mike Moore and Carrington Hanna each with
10 points. The Rockets are back in action tomorrow night as they travel to
Crestwood for a crossover rival meeting. |
